
Class Descriptions
Bellydance Basics: This class focuses on proper body alignment and posture, identifying simple Middle Eastern rhythms, increasing overall strength and flexibility, understanding isolations, and developing movement awareness. Learn the basic traditional bellydance movements as well as bellydance terminology.
Bellydance Choreography (Level 2): This class builds on the basic movements taught in Belly dance Basics. Dance combinations are explored utilizing group formations along with basic Zill Rhythms. Floor work and props are also covered. Students must bring finger cymbals. 8 weeks in Bellydance Basics required.
Bellydance Workout: We took our Basics class and took it up a notch! Focusing on the faster paced bellydance movements, we garauntee to get your heart rate up while having a great time!
Bellydance Core Conditioning: We specifically designed this course for the female body and the challenges we face in order to stay fit. We use slower movements in order to condition the core of the body (abs, glutes, obliques, arms) while teaching proper posture and muscle isolations. Pilates and Yoga are also used in this class.
Hatha Yoga: Delphi's Hatha Yoga classes focus on asanas (poses) to increase flexibility as well as Pilates exercises to increase strength. Great for beginners!
Tao Yoga: Feeling stressed, stiff, and hurried? Tao Yoga is the perfect way to balance out the Yin & Yang. Poses are held for longer periods of time to increase the strength (yang) and flexibility (yin) of the deep, connective tissue. Because the class is slower, it forces the student to slow down, to reflect internally, and to relax into the pose. Benefits include endurance, energy, a state of well being (just to name a few). Great for beginners
Mat Pilates: The classic. Breathing, core strength, and cool music. This series of matwork will re-shape and re-energize your body, especially those abs, legs, and arms.
